A terrific start to 2010
Happy new year to all. We know its a bit late, but we have been busy getting ready for what is sure to be an action packed 2010.
To bring in this new year we spent some of the Christmas period developing our new site. What you see today is the result of a number of sleepless nights and antisocial weekends. However this is not quite the complete picture. Over the coming weeks we hope to provide more information to our customers, including a bit more about the inner workings of what we do, what we are working on currently and what we are aiming for in the near future, including how we can help you get the most out of your website or web application.
So what's happened thus far?
Australia Day was a huge highlight for us this year, with one of our favourite subscriptions from Bit Rebels informed us they were going to be announcing the winners of an Epic Giveaway. We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw what they were putting up for grabs., we had to participate.
Among the slay of sponsored prizes that were listed was a license of ActiveCollab from a51dev. This is an outstanding piece of project management software and something we have been interested in purchasing for quite some time. It therefore goes without saying that we put our name into the hat with the hope of scoring ourselves something we would have otherwise had to have purchased.
After much anticipation, the winners were announced and we were more than pleasantly surprised to find we were the proud winners of an ActiveCollab License. It's always great to win something, but when it's something that can improve our business by increasing the efficiency and production level of all our projects, improve the organisation of our projects, and provide a superior level of support to our customers, its absolutely jaw dropping.
What can we look forward to?
Over the coming weeks we hope to fully integrate this software into our newest investment, a Dell T410 Server. We will no doubt be blogging our experience over the next few months with our experiences in the use of ActiveCollab, as well as our other new internal projects such as our new development environment and server/storage configuration.
We hope to provide a been there, done that, and here's what we learned series of posts about the implementation and use of this project management system, how it integrates with our cms development environment, and also how all of that is implemented on our Server and storage setup.
With all these new toys it might seem like we went a little Rudd incentive crazy, however we did have a budget, so we will be giving some insight into how we saved money, what we go and why, and our recommendations of what we think is the most cost efficient way of getting your business an enterprise level development environment, including file storage solutions for designers and web developers who know what its like to think 2tb of space just isn't enough.
